Exploratorium
Exploratorium is an online Science museum in San Francisco, Ca. With over 22,000 pages, there is plenty to do and learn about at the Exploratorium. Even if you can’t visit San Francisco, you can still enjoy it from your own computer. I enjoyed starting with their live video cam atop their building. Any time of day or night you can see the San Francisco Bay and it’s beautiful! Another interesting feature is their Global Climate Change page with in depth studies about the different layers of our atmosphere.Even the boys will like their website, it has an interactive page to learn about dissecting a cow’s eye! One more fun favorite for boys is the Science of baseball. Ever wonder what happens to the bat and how to hit the ball just right? You can find out here.
A few pages I think the girls will like are the Science of cooking, from spices to candy making! They even have a store to order Science kits and one is the Cosmetic Kit.
The Exploratorium has a section for homeschoolers and if you can make it to the Bay area, be sure to visit this fantastic place! The first Wednesday of every month is FREE, but if you can’t make it on a Wednesday try applying for a school field trip package.
